What the Box Junction sign means
A yellow criss-crossed box at an intersection: do not drive in unless you can expect to clear it. Vehicles turning left or right may enter.
What you must do
Look past the box before you move off. If the traffic beyond it is standing still and there is no gap for you on the far side, wait behind the box. The rule bites at the moment you enter: do not enter unless you can expect to clear it.
