- A countdown sign giving the distance to a high-speed exit. They are used in sets of three — three bars at 300 m, two at 200 m, one at 100 m — so one bar means 100 m to go.
What the Countdown marker (100 m) sign means
A marker with one diagonal bar, standing 100 m before a freeway exit — the last one you pass before the turn-off.
What you must do
Use them to get into the left lane early. They are put up precisely where a curve or a rise hides the exit, so the road ahead can look clear when the turn-off is already on you.
