Free K53 Mock Test Online

A mock test is only useful if it is scored the way the real one is: three sections, each passed or failed on its own. Our free mock is twenty questions in the real paper's proportions, untimed, with a score for each section. Full sixty-four question timed papers are part of the paid access.

Take the free mock

Twenty questions in the proportions of the real paper, in your licence class, scored by section. It needs a free account because it saves your result — there is nothing to pay and no card involved.

Why a single percentage is the wrong number

The learner's test has three areas and each is passed or failed on its own. That one fact makes most mock tests useless: a total of 55 out of 64 sounds comfortable, and if the nine you dropped were all in one area it is a fail.

A mock that gives you a percentage has averaged away the only thing that decides the outcome. It can tell you that you are roughly fine, which is the least actionable sentence in studying, and it cannot tell you that your vehicle controls are about to cost you the morning.

Everything here is scored per area, so what you get back is a sentence you can act on: this is the section that would fail you today, and these are the questions in it you got wrong.

Twenty questions is not a paper and we do not dress it up as one: it is untimed and it returns no pass verdict, because a short sample cannot carry the real thresholds.

What we will not tell you

We will not tell you that you are ready to book. No practice test can know that, and a site that issues the verdict is making a promise it has no way of keeping — the one it will not be there for on the morning you fail.

What a run of mock results can honestly show is a trend: whether your weakest section is still your weakest section, and whether it has stopped dropping marks. That is the signal worth watching, and it is the one the dashboard shows.

There is also no official pass mark to measure yourself against. We checked the Act, the regulations and the three Department of Transport learner-driver manuals, and none of them publishes one — so any site quoting an exact pass mark as official is quoting something it cannot source.

How the mock is built

Questions
Written from the Act, its regulations and the official sign chartEach carries a citation to the provision it rests on
Reviewed
Every question signed off by a named reviewer before it is served
Answer order
Shuffled on every sittingSo a retake tests the answer, not where it sat on the screen last time
Repeats
Held back from your next paperA paper drawn from questions you just answered measures your memory of them

The mistake

Sitting the same mock paper until the score looks good. The second run measures how well you remember the first, and by the fourth you are testing recall of a paper that will never be put in front of you again.

The useful pattern is the opposite: sit one paper, then spend your time on the section it exposed rather than on another paper. Come back for a second mock once you have actually changed something.

Common questions

Is the mock test really free?

Yes — one twenty-question paper, with a free account and no card. The full sixty-four question timed papers, with unlimited retakes and an assessment of each one, are part of the paid access.

Why do I need an account for the mock but not for the practice?

Because the mock saves a result and the practice does not. The score has to belong to somebody for the progress view to mean anything.

Are the mock questions the same as the real exam questions?

No. Nobody outside a testing centre has that bank. Ours are written from the same law and the same official sign chart, and each one names the provision behind it.

Is the free mock timed like the real test?

No, deliberately. Twenty questions is not a real paper, and adding a clock to a short sample adds pressure without adding realism. The full papers are timed.

Does the mock cover my licence class?

The vehicle controls questions do. The rules and the signs sections are the same for every class, which is how the regulation defines the test — only the controls area is tied to the class you applied for.
